Felipe Franco Wins Grand Prix Championship

Felipe Franco is looking to the Olympia stage.

Felipe Franco enjoyed the honor of being onstage for the the Grand Prix Mr. Olympia Set 2018, this this Saturday. He now returns to his native country of Brazil bearing the title champion.


He was the only Brazilian featured in the competition and took to social media to reflect at length on his trials and what the competition meant to him.

“I started my preparation on January 6, almost 3 months ago, coming from a blessed 2017, but with a lot of setbacks, but never ceasing to fight with my head held high. Thank God for talking to me every day and staying strong in the battle of life. I want to leave here my thanks to the people who are essential to conclude this achievement, I apologize in advance if you forget someone, but you know that you are thank you very much, family, friends, my wife.”

He then continued to list the members of his team by name.


Before the competition he had spoken to outlet QUEM about preparation and mindset.

“The mind is already worked out at the beginning of the preparation, it’s 90 intense days. It makes you ready to face any stage. The pain brings success and I like to feel pain to feel the victory.”

Felipe says that he runs about 8km for morning cardio. Weight training comes at 5pm daily.


He added that his girlfriend Juliana, plays a crucial part in his psychological stability.

“She has a very rude routine too, she helps me when she can and she stays with me. Juliana is part of my strengthened psychological and if we’re not well, I cannot make progress, she always helps me feel the best.”
