Forget Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua vs Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller is the Fight We Need Next!

Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller is setting himself up to be Anthony Joshua’s most intriguing next opponent.

For a long while now boxing fans have been clamoring to see Anthony Joshua face off with Deontay Wilder. The two heavyweight boxers have proven themselves to be top flight competitors, athletes who rise to the occasion when the chips are down. It’s no wonder that the fans have been salivating at the opportunity to see these two dominant heavyweight contenders share the ring together. There’s only one problem: that fight isn’t happening anytime soon.

Just over a month ago Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder were getting set to do battle, the boxing gods apparently answering the prayers of the fandom. The joke was on all of us however as negotiations stalled leaving more than a few boxing fans with a sour taste in their mouths. Instead, Anthony Joshua will defend his IBF, WBA, and WBO Heavyweight titles against rugged and tough Russian Alexander Povetkin on September 28 in London, England.

It’s a great fight being honest, one with enough questions and intrigue to force all us boxing fans to tune in. There’s only one problem. Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller crashed the party leaving all watching with a far more compelling foe for Anthony Joshua to face off against.

Yes, Alexander Povetkin may have the credentials and the ability to give Anthony Joshua a legitimate challenge. But in truth, there’s just nothing quite like a grudge match, is there. Jarrell Miller has thrown his hat into the race and is using any tactic necessary to get his name out there as the next contender to face Joshua. The man they call “Big Baby” isn’t below using scathing comments and disrespectful statements to get an opportunity against Joshua either.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Miller has both an extensive career in boxing and kickboxing, facing off with some of the most dangerous men in the world in both disciplines, including world renowned MMA and kickboxing star Mirko Crocop. Since devoting himself fully to boxing, Miller had to learn on the job taking out one foe after another eventually winning the WBO-NABO Heavyweight title.

Now on the world stage, Miller is looking to make a name for himself and contend with the two men considered to be the best of the best in the heavyweight division. While his performances may speak volumes to his potential, no one could have guessed that it would be his verbal warfare that would draw the attention of Anthony Joshua. Not only has Miller spoken at length about his belief in his victory in a potential match up with the IBF, WBO, WBA champion, but he’s taken things a step further, insulting Joshua’s mother in the process.

Now it seems that Miller has Joshua’s attention and the chances of a confrontation between the two becomes not only more likely, but more anticipated. Everyone loves a good grudge match. Two men with a score to settle makes for a fight with more drama, which at the end of the day means more dollar signs. Their face to face confrontation on stage at the Joshua vs Povetkin press conferences didn’t hurt much either.

At this point things are beginning to heat up and a battle between these two heavyweight juggernauts seems to be less of a fantasy and more likely to be a foregone conclusion.
