Michael Chandler is a beast.

While the MMA casual may be well informed on everything UFC related, the rest usually tend not to hear too much about what’s going on with the fighters in other organizations. For example, if you’ve heard the name Michael Chandler then there’s no doubt that you know the man is a beast. What you may not know is all the work that the former Bellator lightweight champion puts into each and everyone of his workouts.

Michael Chandler is a supreme athlete, beginning his journey in the martial arts through wrestling. Amateur wrestling teaches an individual to develop grit as well as discipline, two traits that Michael Chandler has in spades.

As he prepares for his next Bellator fight, Michael Chandler continues to put in work at the gym and he’s preparing his body not only through the martial arts but through intense physical training as well.

This first clip showcases the former lightweight champ performing a barbell complex developed by Onnit coach Eric Leija.

#workoutoftheday – the @primal.swoledier barbell complex – This movement is to be done slow and controlled and you can choose to do it for time or for reps. – Underhand grip, squat, triceps extension, descend bar to waist, curl, press, descend bar to back of head, repeat. – ?: @marqos_maldonado – #mma #fitness #fitnessjourney #fitnessmotivation #workout #workouts #workoutchallenge #workoutmotivation #ironmichael #barbell #barbellclub #circuit #circuitworkout #circuittraining #strengthandconditioning @monsterenergy @dymatize

The second clip shows Chandler going through a brutal total body complex that is sure to make even the strongest lifter sore.
