George Farah is one of the most legendary bodybuilding gurus in the sport. Known for training a large stable of top athletes throughout his career, the words of Farah carry much weight due to his expertise. And it seems that Farah has a lot on his mind. When we sat down with him earlier this year to conduct an interview, it lasted two hours long.

In that time we discussed a large variety of topics. The biggest eye opener, is how George Farah has changed his world view after surviving cancer. He spends a large chunk of our conversation describing his mind set during his battle with cancer and how he became addicted to opioids. He also describes how his outlook as a trainer changed upon recovery.

George Farah had always been understanding about the use of steroids in bodybuilding. He was also an early adopter of introducing insulin into bodybuilding. He’s since changed his tune. He now considers the levels of steroid us in modern bodybuilding abusive. He urges his clients and other pros listening to our interview to pull back on use. “There’s life after bodybuilding” Farah repeats more than once throughout our discussion. He’s also turned his back on insulin. He thinks it’s too dangerous with too big a window for error upon use. It’s life threatening and not necessary to create incredible physiques.

George Farah also dives into the recent developments in bodybuilding. He shares his thoughts on the criticism Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman laid on Brandon Curry upon winning the Olympia 2019. He also shares his thoughts on the recent showings of Big Ramy and Hadi Choopan. Two hyped athletes that have had trouble winning the Mr. Olympia for two very different reasons.

Hadi has been unable to compete in the United States until 2019 – where a last minute showing earned him third place in the Men’s Open division. Big Ramy had to skip out the Olympia 2019 due to an earlier injury – but his past showings also fell short from earning him the Olympia title. Can he ever achieve it? George Farah shares his thoughts.
