Another eventful weekend has passed us by as UFC 201 saw a new Welterweight champion crowned. Tyron Woodley may not be a name that bodybuilders readily know, but if they were smart they’d pay attention. Just from a physique standpoint, Woodley looks like a man that could have found his calling in professional bodybuilding if he hadn’t gone down the road of becoming a mixed martial artist.

Now that he’s become the Welterweight champion the division once again has a question mark hanging over it. Many thought former champion Robbie Lawler was unbeatable, but Woodley has come along and proved that notion to be entirely untrue. Tyron Woodley was forced into the role of underdog and turned the tables in shocking fashion. That kind of resolve and self belief is exactly what every athlete must aspire to if they wish to perform at the best of their abilities. So too should you carry that drive and mentality into the gym when you’re training to attain an elevated physical form.
