Some people just can’t seem to catch a break…
That has been the rhetoric spouted about the infamous career of Jon Jones ever since the former UFC light heavyweight champion was flagged for a PED violation after his comeback fight against current divisional kingpin Daniel Cormier. The performance enhancing drug that was found in his system that it was akin to dropping a grain of salt and tossing it into an Olympic size swimming pool.
At least that was what the masses were led to believe.
After his most recent infraction ahead of UFC 232, no one is looking at Jon Jones as the man who just can’t seem to catch a break. Instead he is being looked upon as the man who tried to cheat the system, who has potentially been using performance enhancing substances for his entire storied career. Of course, such claims are unsubstantiated and stand simply as speculation. The truly sad part however is that this will be the legacy that Jones leaves behind.
After he bids his farewell to life as a pugilist, the question of whether or not Jon Jones was a legit champion will always be hanging above his head. No longer will fans look on Jones as a talented athlete who was able to dominate the competition every time he stepped into the world famous Octagon. Now all that will remain are questions, ones to which we’ll never have the answers to.

Heading into his bout with Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232, Jon Jones hasn’t shied away from the media and the masses. He even had time to engage former rival Daniel Cormier in a bit of brutal back and forth over social media.

Jon Jones appears unrepentant and truly done with the choir boy act. Now, all he’s focused on is winning as many fights ahead of him as possible. With the UFC and Dana White bending over backwards to accommodate the one time revered champion, Jones can be sure that he’ll at least have one final chance to perform, even if it’s under the shadow of unscrupulous judgement.
