Hulk Hogan Says Ronnie Coleman Is “His Hero” And Wants to Set Up a Match

In case you missed it, Hulk Hogan and Ronnie Coleman have exchanged a bit of friendly fire over Instagram and teased fans with the possibility of a wrestling match between the two champions.

In a recent Instagram post of his daily home workouts, Hulk Hogan took the time to shout out “[his] hero” Ronnie Coleman for persevering through multiple surgeries and coming out on top. He praised the bodybuilder for his dedication to the sport and even jokingly challenged him to a match.

The two have a lot in common as champions of the bodybuilding and wrestling worlds. Hogan also showed Coleman some love due to the recent surgeries he’s undergone to repair muscle damage in his body. It’s a struggle Hogan himself can relate to since he’s also undergone surgeries to repair torn muscles in his biceps. Even though both of them belong to an older generation of athletes, they’ve recovered remarkably well from their surgeries and show no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Coleman responded to Hogan’s kind words in an Instagram Live. He thanked him for praising his dedication and made it clear the respect was totally mutual. Here’s what Ronnie Coleman had to say:

“I want to say I appreciate that, coming from a legend like you. I just want you to know that I’ve always been a big fan. I remember when you were with the WWF. That’s how far you go back, and I go back, to being old legends. I remember the day when you picked up Andre the Giant, and you slammed him on that floor like he was a light weight baby. A real light weight baby, in the form of a real baby. We all know Andre the Giant was a 7-foot-five, 7-foot-six, 500lb man. So we know what it takes to pick up somebody like that. It takes a lot of strength, a lot of will, a lot of courage, a lot of eating your vitamins like we used to say back in the day. I remember that!”

Hulk Hogan also challenged him in the post, which Ronnie Coleman took the time to respond to. His answer? “Any day, any time, anywhere.”

With so much beef between legends of the sport on social media these days, it’s refreshing to see two greats have a little healthy competition exist between them. While it’s too soon to say yet if a wrestling match between the two could ever happen, it’s enough to have most fans drooling at the prospect of a match up between these two massively strong and accomplished athletes. Hopefully there’s more to come from this friendship and we will get to see the two of them in the ring eventually!
