Watch Iron Biby Log Press 514 lbs (233.5 kg) For Unofficial World Record

Strongman Cheick “Iron Biby” Sanou has unofficially surpassed the world record for largest log press.

Iron Biby regularly shares video updates with fans over Instagram about how his fitness journey is going and what his training routines look like. This week was no exception; Iron Biby shared a video of himself breaking the unofficial all-time log lift record at 514 lbs. You can check out the video in full below.

“Got many people inboxing me and wanting to know when I will break this record. Here IS my answer,” Iron Biby captioned the post. “Because of this pandemic every professional sports in the World have been postponed. Mortality rate going up everyday. I really Care about what Happening now so I will wait & compete when things Come back to normal.”

Iron Biby is of course referring to the strict social distancing guidelines that have impacted strongman events around the world. The 2020 Live World Log Lift Championship, which was recently postponed indefinitely, announced that its new date is on August 8th. Iron Biby will finally get an opportunity to prove his achievement in a verifiable way in front of a stadium of fans when that day finally comes.

Iron Biby is the definite favorite to smash this world record come August, since he’s the only competitor who has demonstrably shown during training that he can do it. Check out some of the other updates on his impressive workouts below.

Definitely one of the most noticeable things about Iron Biby is his impressive size in addition to his strength. At 6’2″ and just under 400 pounds, he is definitely on the huge side, even standing among other professional strongmen.

Strength Wars Movie

Many fans are understandably disappointed that the 2020 Log Lift Championships have been delayed. However, there is a silver lining — it does mean that athletes have more time to train and prepare, and that could lead to a more explosive competition later on. Iron Biby is certainly making the most of his time in self-quarantine and is keeping in top condition so that, when the day finally comes, he won’t have lost a pound of muscle in the meantime. This is definitely a test of will for many strength sports competitors around the world, who have to keep up their fitness regimen indefinitely until competitions resume.

Clearly, Iron Biby has a take-no-prisoners approach to the log lift, and will likely place in the top three when the championships do come, if not first. He’s posted updates all week long showing a commitment to regular log lifts and modified squats. This is exactly the sort of concentration a lot of the pros have been showing lately, making the most of their workouts while still maintaining social distancing either outdoors or at a home gym. Iron Biby is definitely a contender and a strongman to look out for at all future competitions. Best of luck to him at the 2020 Championships!
