Bodybuilding has gone downhill after Ronnie Coleman.
Every week, Iron Cinema will connect you with Generation Iron director Vlad Yudin. Giving you unprecedented inside access to the creative process behind his the Generation Iron Fitness Network. Get a first hand look at the entire journey of taking Vlad’s creative ideas to the big screen – from stories on set of films like Generation Iron and CT Fletcher all the way to exclusive behind-the-scene looks at our newest GI news and films. In an earlier episode, Shawn Ray spoke with Vlad stating he was the “real” winner against Dorian Yates back in 1994. So of course, Vlad jumped on Skype with Dorian Yates himself to get his side of the story.
After I spoke with Shawn Ray, he was very quick and confident to say that he deserved to win over Dorian Yates – one of bodybuilding’s most popular Mr. Olympia winners. To many, the 6x Olympia champion is a shining light in the sport. A man who ushered in the new era of mass monster that made way for Ronnie Coleman.
It’s easy to look back into the past and say… “This or that should have happened.” And it’s especially understanding with the knowledge that Dorian Yates was injured during the infamous 1994 competition. But I needed to hear both sides of the story. What does Dorian Yates think about Shawn’s statements after all these years? And how does he feel about bodybuilding today? That’s what I wanted to know. So check out our latest interview just above.
