Some things just get bigger with age.
There’s an old ideology with bodybuilding. The idea that the longer the train the more muscle maturity you gain. Over the years this ideology has grown to become less of an opinion and more of a definite fact. As you train your consistently your body becomes an environment designed to produce quality gains. With every passing training session an individual will cultivate more and more muscle and if they aren’t making major gains, they’re maintaining the muscle they’ve already built up. It’s the reason why no one should be too surprised that a bodybuilder that is up in age can still manage to look impressive.

Despite that very fact, it should come as no surprise when an individual is shocked at seeing an older lifter having a more impressive physique than some younger bodybuilders. Considering the fact that the odds should usually be in the younger individual’s favor in their ability to build greater muscle, it’s always surprising to see an older individual with impressive muscle.
Now, when we cross over to the celebrity stratosphere, many bodybuilders often laugh at actors and other celebs claiming to be in jacked shape, but still appearing tiny in comparison to the average avid bodybuilder. Nevertheless, there are individuals who look extremely impressive through years of extensive bodybuilding. Names like Chris Evans, Hugh Jackman, and The Rock may often come to mind when talking about impressive celebrity physiques. But one that never quite hits the radar is J.K. Simmons. Sure, he’s been in superhero movies like the original Spider-Man series, but he was never caught up in the action. It’s only natural that people wouldn’t consider Simmons to be jacked. Well it looks like that’s about to change.
Recently some Instagram photos of J.K. Simmons have surfaced showing the 61 year old man training hard for his upcoming role in the Ben Affleck directed Batman flick. While Simmons may be playing the iconic Commissioner Gordon, he apparently has been put on notice to pack on some muscle for the role.
