Jesus Olivares beat his own record during a recent training session.

Jesus Olivares only competed twice during the 2023 calendar year but his performances were enough to gain the attention of many. Not only are his performances impressive but his training sessions have caught many eyes. During a recent Instagram post, Olivares showed off an insane 420kg (926lb) raw deadlift.

On Friday, Jesus Olivares showed off the extreme deadlift, lifting 10kg heavier than his current world record of 410kg (904lbs). Olivares reached this mark during the 2023 Sheffield Powerlifting Championships in March. This was the heaviest deadlift ever at an IPF International contest. It was also his first victory of the year during the inaugural event.

Olivares also impressed during the 2023 IPF Classic World Championships in Malta. This marked his third consecutive world championship. Olivares has established himself as one of the elite competitors in the world, both during competition and in training.

Jesus Olivares Hits Massive Deadlift In Training

Jesus Olivares stepped unto the bar with nothing but a lifting belt as an assist. He used a mixed grip and showed a smooth lift. He held the lockout at the top before returning to the ground. It looks as though Olivares had plenty left in the tank.

Jesus Olivares has shared some other insane lifts over the last few weeks. This includes a 415kg (915lbs) on Thanksgiving Day. During this lift, Olivares lost his grip at the top. After this recent video, any doubts about his grip can be put to rest. Olivares has also showed off a set of five reps using 370kg (815lbs).

During the 2023 Sheffield, Olivares also set a new world record total of 1,152.5kg (2,541lbs). This was a record that has been held since 2017. Ray Williams previously held it at 1,105kg (2,436lbs).

Jesus Olivares is preparing to set some new marks during his next appearance. The 2024 Sheffield competition is scheduled for Feb. 10, 2024 in Sheffield, UK. Olivares has a chance to defend his title successfully.
