Jon Delarosa made this decision following the Tampa Pro over the weekend.

Men’s Open competitor Jon Delarosa announced that he will be retiring from competitive bodybuilding. He shared this news, along with a heartfelt message, on Sunday following his performance during the 2025 Tampa Pro.

Delarosa finished sixth in Tampa over on Saturday night. The following day, he shared a post thanking many who have helped him along the way in his bodybuilding career.

“I’m closing this chapter of my life as hard as it is bc this is all I know for something with a deeper purpose!”

Delarosa has been a consistent competitor in the Men’s Open division for over a decade. He turned pro in 2011 before making his debut the very next year. Over the years, Delarosa has competed in some of the biggest shows of the year.

Delarosa made an impact right away with six top-three finishes in the first three years of his career. He went onto win the Chicago Pro in 2015 and was able to make his Olympia debut at the end of the year. In 2017, Delarosa finished as the runner-up during the Toronto Pro Supershow and New York Pro. This would be the first of two seasons where he logged second-place finishes in both shows. The other came in 2023 where he was second at the Tampa Pro and Chicago Pro.

Jon Delarosa ended his message thanking his wife, Taylor, and will now take time to focus on his family.

“God willing my beautiful wife @taylorrrdelarosa and I will be able to start a family soon! Love you all and thank you all for the love and support all of these years….”
