Jon Jones Charged with Alleged Battery After Incident at Strip Club

Jon Jones is being accused of some serious charges.

It seems every industry is filled with controversy8 these days. Bodybuilding has had it’s fair share of individuals being accused of some serious crimes and it appears that MMA isn’t bucking the trend.


Allegedly, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is being accused of placing a waitress in a chokehold and lifting her off her feet at a strip club back in April. These accusations are still unfounded and under investigation.

Originally reported by KRQE News 13 who broke the news late Sunday night, the alleged victim claims that Jon Jones “slapped her inappropriately” and “pulled her down to his lap and kissed her neck.” She also accused Jon Jones of placing her in a chokehold and lifting her off her feet.

Jones failed to appear in court for a bond arraignment Albuquerque Metropolitan Court back on June 11. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest as well as court letter being mailed out to Jones. The documents never reached their destination and bounced back.

Jon Jones had since paid $300 cash bond at the Metropolitan Court on Sunday July 21. A Jones spokesperson had this to say about the incident:

“Today, the media told Mr. Jones about a false accusation launched against him and that paperwork had been sent to an incorrect address,” James Hallinan told KRQE 13 News. “However, after receiving the documents from the press, Mr. Jones immediately went to pay the small fee, and he, and multiple witnesses, stand ready to factually refute the malicious lies being told about him to the public.”

Jon Jones has had a number of run ins with the law which has effectively cast a shadow on his storied career inside the UFC octagon. Jon Jones is incident until proved guilty of these alleged crimes.
