Within the last week it seems that bodybuilding has been completely turned on it’s head. There have been a few shockers that no one saw coming and it seems as if there’s a major upheaval that’s occurring within the sport. There’s no doubting that Kai Greene’s announcement of his withdrawal from the 2015 Olympia competition was one of the most unexpected moments to occur in bodybuilding for quite some time.
Many have stated that Kai’s withdrawal would have some long term affects on the sport as well as fan’s thoughts and opinions on the IFBB. Many are already in an uproar after Kai has stated that he’d not only be unable to compete at the event, but that he was being barred from doing so. Speculation was that an injury could have been the cause of the prominent bodybuilder’s withdrawal, but now the plot thickens as some breaking news has revealed that Kai’s claims that some behind the scenes politics at the IFBB might be the main cause. None of us knows the exact details of Kai’s expulsion from the competition, but regardless it seems like there’s going to be some major blow back from all this.

Already it seems that the situation has sparked the fire in one of the top IFBB judges Lee Thompson. Citing a difference in ideology, Thompson has decided to leave the ranks of the IFBB to start his own federation where he claims that things will be run much differently than the IFBB. It remains to be seen exactly what changes this federation will bring to the table, but Thompson seems pretty passionate about making sure competitors are given the utmost respect for their participation.
