Kai Greene Congratulates Shawn Rhoden, Pokes Fun at the Idea of a Comeback

Could we see a Kai Greene comeback?

With the 2018 Olympia decided, we saw some major shake ups in multiple divisions. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the event was the dethroning of the long time reigning Mr. Olympia Phil Heath toppled by Shawn Rhoden, a challenger who was once and up and comer who became the former king’s chief rival in recent years.

While 2017 may not have been the best showing for Shawn Rhoden, the new Mr. Olympia came back this year with a truly impressive physique, one that couldn’t be denied by the judges. With so many believing that Phil Heath would go on to win ten consecutive Olympia titles, it came as a big shock.

In the midst of all this however, one couldn’t help but think of another of Phil Heath’s chief rivals, Kai Greene. Most recently we saw Kai talk about his future in the sport in GENERATION IRON 3.

After battling Phil Heath for many years on the Olympia stage, Kai Greene had built a huge fan base that would eventually carry him to other arenas outside of bodybuilding. But while he may have left competitive bodybuilding to the way side for the moment, Kai Greene is still fully entrenched in the bodybuilding world. He’s still paying attention to the competitions and he extended his congratulations to the new Mr. Olympia Shawn Rhoden.

Many have been calling for a Kai Greene comeback and the veteran bodybuilder even went so far as to poke fun at the idea after Shawn Rhoden’s victory.
