One of the legends of German bodybuilding has passed away.
Karl Bloemer, a recognized veteran of both the NABBA and IFBB organizations passed away on September 19, 2020. A well known figure in German bodybuilding, Bloemer was also a good friend of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Karl Bloemer appeared in both film and television programs in Germany. He had immense popularity and was easily recognizable for his well kept white locks.
Passing away a few weeks shy of his 83rd birthday on October 12, Bloemer left behind a legacy of solid performance both on and off the bodybuilding stage. He competed as an amateur bodybuilder from 1967 to 1978.

Another old school great has passed away at the age of 82. Karl Bloemer of Germany passed away peacefully in his sleep yesterday. He was born on 12 October 1937. Karl places 4th in NABBA Mr Universe Professional Tall Class in 1967. the great Bill Pearl won the title that year . Karl won the IFBB Mr Europe Tall Class title in 1968 , in 1970 He was overall winner at German Championships. 1971 Karl won the Overall IFBB Mr Europe title as well as winning IFBB Universe Tall Class title. A good friend of Helmut Reidmeir and Arnold Schwarzenegger.. Our condolences to his family and friends. RIP Mr Bloemer.
