This calendar year bodybuilding had seen it’s fair share of interesting events. From Kai Greene not competing at the 2015 Olympia to Dexter Jackson shocking the world and taking second place at that same show. And even still we saw records broken as Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay became that first bodybuilder to compete on an Olympia stage north of 300 pounds. It was been a fairly surprising year to say the least. But perhaps the most left field event of the calendar year came when Kevin Levrone announced his intentions to return to the competitive stage at this year’s Olympia.

For many it was just another in a long line of promises from Levrone who had made claims for years that he would one day return to the competitive stage. But the promises never came to fruition. At least up until a few months ago. When Kevin Levrone made an official video about his return alongside champion Phil Heath, the bodybuilding world was turned on it’s head.

Kevin Levrone in the eyes of many fans was a bodybuilder so talented that in their eyes he was worthy of being named an Olympia champion. In fact, for many years fans dubbed Levrone the uncrowned Olympia champ and were both perturbed and infuriated that he had never won the title. But with his return set at the 2016 Olympia you can bet that Levrone is taking things seriously and looking to make a major statement in his return to competition.

Many have wondered if Levrone still had the goods to challenge the top pros of today. Many even questioned whether or not he could still train with the same intensity as he did back in his heyday. Now it seems that Muscular Development has made a video to put all those questions to rest. Take a look at some of the intense training Kevin Levrone is putting himself through to challenge Heath for the Olympia title.

Do you think Kevin Levrone can become Mr. Olympia?
