Kishan Tiwari Looks To Put Indian Bodybuilding On The Map

Putting Indian bodybuilding on the map.

Kishan Tiwari planted his flag at the top of India’s bodybuilding scene by becoming ‘Mr India’ last week. He is the first bodybuilder form Vidarbha to achieve the feat. The event ws hosted by the Indian Body Building and Fitness Federation (IBBFF) which is affiliated with the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB) we all know.

Last year, Tiwari struggled, partly due to injury. He finished sixth in the Amateur Olympia International contest in October. However, the turn of the year witnessed a strong recovery and re-dedication to bodybuilding. This victory marks a high point in his career. He told Times of India:

“This is a motivating victory and will help me stay inspired for next challenges.”

Tiwari attempted a common business venture in the fitness community- he opened his own gym in 2014. Unfortunately, this led to tremendous financial strain, as the gym received a less than ideal reception into the community. Over the years though, attendance has increased dramatically. In part due to Tiwari’s own example and marketing efforts, in part to the practice of bodyvuilding exploding across the world. Tiwari now trains with more than 100 clients.

Although Mr India is perhaps Tiwari’s greatest achievement, it is far from his first victory. Earlier in 2017, he won the Vidarbha-Shree crown, outperforming many of the nation’s top competitors. He followed that with a stellar performance shich won him Body Power Fit Factor in 2017. He also took the Kamgar Shree title which was organized by Kamgar Kalyan. Tiwari’s next target is the IBBFF Diamond Cup 2018. The man who wins that will qualify for more prestigious international competition.

We wish Tiwari the best as he continues to reach personal goals and blaze a trail for a country rife with bodybuilding enthusiasm.
