Are diet plans sustainable?
When it comes to burning fat and building muscle diet is paramount. You can’t hope to make some considerable gains without first having a solid diet plan in place. You could train 24/7 in the gym, push yourself to the limit, but if you’re eating like crap and not understanding exactly what kind of macros and nutrients you’re pumping into your body then all that hard work will ultimately be for nothing.
As far as athletes go, adhering to a strict diet is done so in order for them to have the optimal performance. There’s a reason athletes eat clean and maintain a healthy diet and that’s in order to take their physical prowess to new heights. The average Joe and Jane however is a completely different story.
The average person wants to build muscle and lose fat in hopes of looking better than they were yesterday. They don’t care so much about being the next Mr. Olympia, breaking powerlifting records or becoming UFC champion. They just want the chance to look and feel better. Besides training, that means adhering to a specific diet plan in order to bring about the best results. But according to famed doctor Layne Norton, sticking to a diet long term just isn’t sustainable.
A staple in the bodybuilding and fitness community, Layne Norton has time and again sited flexible dieting being the best way to maintain a top of the line physical form. His recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast brought up this very ideology. Along with Dom D’Agustino, Joe Rogan and Layne Norton discussed the idea of sticking to a diet plan. Joe Rogan explains why it is very possible while Layne Norton gives his own stance claiming that diet plans aren’t sustainable.
