Lee Priest Talks Using Smartphones In The Gym
Lee Priest used to workout in a world when people would communicate with each other rather than be wrapped up in their phones.
“Now, we’re in our own little world. They wear these big f*cking ear warmers and they’re doing sh*t on their phones. It’s like, come on people.”

Priest believes taking in the environment around you is more beneficial than being in your phone, whether it is scrolling different apps or listening to music. Back in Priest’s day, they would share information in the gym and this is how news used to get around.
“You’d only get bits of information periodically when the magazines came out or if you’re in the gym. People used to talk more. They weren’t in their little closed-off worlds.”
Nowadays, Priest does not like how involved smartphones have become, including listening to music.
“That’s why I hate when people wear headphones and music. You’re in your own world. You’re not listening to what’s going on around you. You take in the noise of the gym. Look, even if they have sh*tty music playing, don’t pay attention, just take in the atmosphere of people training.”
