The IFBB Pro League recently made a rule change where competitors who are inactive for three years will lose their pro status if membership is not renewed. Priest commented on this rule when it was first put into place and has now renewed his membership.
A post was shared on Instagram displaying Priest’s renewed Pro Card for 2025.
A bodybuilder can choose to remain inactive for three years or more. Under this new rule, that bodybuilder would have to win a Pro qualifier in order to regain status in the IFBB Pro League. Any athlete who held status prior to 2023 will have until the final day of 2025 to become an active member. If they do not, their Pro status will be canceled and the only way to regain it is through a Pro qualifier.
The IFBB has urged competitors to take part in more shows over the course of the year and this new rule will impact those who are not active for three years.
Is Lee Priest Returning To Action?
There have been many comments regarding the news that Lee Priest has renewed his membership. Many fans took to the comment section of the post to share their mixed opinions, with many being positive about a potential return:
“Lee’s comeback would break social media.”
“Why on Earth does he want to compete at his age?”
“Masters Olympia???”
Priest enjoyed a career on stage that spanned into three decades. He has had the chance to compete against legendary bodybuilders like Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, and Chris Cormier. Before calling it a career in 2013, Priest won the NABBA Mr. Universe competition. Priest quickly became known for his incredible conditioning and massive biceps.
There has been no plans shared by Priest or anyone else regarding his plans to compete moving forward. What we do know is that the Masters Olympia will be returning in 2025. The competition is scheduled for Aug. 9-10 in Tokyo. Kamal Elgargni highlighted the 2023 event with a victory in Men’s Open. The event was not part of the IFBB Pro League schedule this year but will make its return in August 2025.
A potential return for Lee Priest already has fans excited about the overall idea. If he were to announce it officially, many would be extremely excited to watch one of their favorite competitors take the stage once again. With this recent development, there will be plenty of waiting eyes on any announcement made by Priest.
