Logan Paul Gets Knocked Out by UFC Middleweight Contender Paulo Costa

Looks like Logan Paul bit off more than he could chew.

Professional combat sports is no place for those unwilling to put everything on the line. The preparation necessary to do battle with a fellow trained athlete is both grueling and eye opening. A fighter quickly learns if they are built for the game or if it’s just a pipe dream that should be put on the shelf.

Logan Paul has tested the waters in boxing against rival KSI on two separate occasions. While he’s shown some measure of skill in his striking, ultimately it’s nothing to write home about and the notion of him doing battle with a true professional combat sports athlete is nothing short of fantasy.

That has been reaffirmed when Logan Paul opted to spar with UFC middleweight contender and the next man to challenge champion Israel Adesanya for the belt Paulo Costa.

During a training session with the UFC contender, Logan Paul got a taste of the Brazilian mixed martial artist’s power and the result was about as you would expect.

Paulo Costa is truly a beast of a striker and his power has been on display a number of times during his UFC tenure. He has knocked almost every one of his opponents into a new dimension save for the ever resilient and ageless Yoel Romero. Logan Paul got a slight taste of what it’d be like to go up against a professionally trained warrior that does this for a living and unsurprisingly got his clock cleaned.

Something tells me that Paulo Costa was definitely pulling his punches and knowing that Logan Paul likes to put on a show for his legion of rabid fans you have to wonder if the whole sparring match was set up for him to take a “devastating punch” but for now that is simply just speculation. To be fair, Paulo Costa does hit like a mack truck so it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility that the knockdown was legitimate.

All in all, it’s a lesson to anyone who thinks being a professional fighter is something you can just try on without taking some serious punishment.
