Vlad Yudin-directed feature examines the evolving science, controversy and future of testosterone therapy for men and women
Generation Iron has announced Longevity Code: The Truth About Testosterone, a new feature documentary directed by Vlad Yudin that explores the science, history, medical applications, controversies, and future of testosterone therapy.
The film features prominent physicians, health and fitness experts, and public figures, including American actor Josh Duhamel; board-certified physician, author, and founder of the Muscle-Centric Medicine movement Dr. Gabrielle Lyon; board-certified urologic surgeon, author, and podcaster Dr. Kelly Casperson; celebrity trainer Don Saladino; “father of biohacking” Dave Asprey; retired U.S. Army Special Operations Sergeant Major John McPhee; Harvard-trained urologist and longtime testosterone researcher Dr. Abraham Morgentaler, and more.
Through interviews with physicians, researchers, patients, and other experts, Longevity Code will examine the science behind testosterone, the effects of declining hormone levels, the growing interest in testosterone replacement therapy, and the questions surrounding its use.
The documentary arrives during a significant shift in the medical and regulatory conversation around testosterone, following recent FDA actions reconsidering long-standing labeling and indications surrounding testosterone therapy. Investigating what current research says about its risks and benefits, why testosterone remains controversial within parts of the medical community, and how emerging research could reshape its use for both men and women.
The film also explores the emerging debate surrounding testosterone and women’s health, including research into potential applications, the absence of an FDA-approved testosterone product specifically indicated for women, and efforts underway to change that landscape.
Yet despite the growing public interest, many questions remain.
What exactly is testosterone? How does it work in the body? What happens when testosterone levels decline? When does treatment become medically appropriate? Is testosterone replacement therapy safe? Are there meaningful differences between various forms of testosterone treatment? Can women benefit from testosterone therapy? And what could the future of hormone treatment look like?
And most importantly – why has a large portion of the medical community strayed away from testosterone treatment?
Longevity Code: The Truth About Testosterone aims to examine these questions through a combination of science, medical expertise, and real-world experiences. The film continues Generation Iron’s expansion of its feature-documentary slate beyond competitive bodybuilding into broader stories exploring health, human performance, science and longevity.

The Evolution Of Testosterone
The film will trace the evolution of testosterone from its discovery and early medical applications to its current position at the center of a rapidly expanding conversation about health and aging. Rather than focusing on a single perspective, the documentary will bring together multiple voices to examine the subject from different angles.
Doctors and researchers featured in the film will discuss the biology of testosterone and explain what the hormone does within the human body. Experts such as Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, Dr. Kelly Casperson, and Dr. Abraham Morgentaler will contribute to the film’s examination of hormone health and the medical considerations surrounding testosterone treatment.
The documentary will also examine how testosterone levels can change over the course of a person’s life and why declining levels may become an important medical consideration for some individuals.
The Rise of Testosterone Replacement Therapy
A major focus of the film will be testosterone replacement therapy, commonly referred to as TRT. As more people seek information about hormone therapy, the documentary will explore the medical reasoning behind TRT, how physicians approach treatment, and the factors that can influence whether therapy is appropriate for a particular patient.
The documentary will also examine the stigma and confusion surrounding hormone therapy.
For years, conversations about testosterone have often been divided between medical discussions, fitness culture, and public perceptions shaped by performance-enhancing drug use. Longevity Code will investigate the differences between these conversations and look at why testosterone therapy remains a complicated subject for many people who are considering treatment.
A Changing Medical and Regulatory Landscape
One of the key voices in the film is Shalin Shah, CEO of Marius Pharmaceuticals, whose company developed the FDA-approved oral testosterone therapy KYZATREX. A leading figure in the evolving conversation around testosterone, hormone health, and longevity, Shah is a prominent advocate for expanding access to testosterone therapy, challenging long-standing misconceptions, and pursuing FDA approval for testosterone therapy for women.
His work has helped bring testosterone into a broader conversation about health, aging, quality of life, and longevity while challenging decades of cultural and medical stigma surrounding the hormone.
A Personal Perspective
Personal stories will provide another important component of the film.
Patients who have experience with testosterone therapy will share their individual perspectives and describe how treatment has affected their lives. These stories will explore areas that can be difficult to capture through statistics alone, including energy, confidence, mental well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life.
The inclusion of public figures such as Josh Duhamel, alongside physicians and health and fitness professionals, will further broaden the film’s exploration of how conversations surrounding testosterone and aging have moved into mainstream culture.
Testosterone Risks & Breaking The Stigma Around Hormone Therapy
At the same time, the documentary will examine the potential risks and limitations associated with testosterone therapy. Questions about safety, appropriate medical supervision, long-term use, and potential complications will be addressed as part of a broader effort to provide viewers with a more complete understanding of the subject.
The film will also investigate the relationship between testosterone and broader health concerns. Some emerging claims surrounding testosterone and serious health conditions have generated significant debate, and Longevity Code will examine these questions through medical and scientific perspectives rather than relying solely on popular assumptions or internet speculation.

Can Women Use Testosterone?
Another important aspect of the documentary will be its focus on women.
Although testosterone is commonly associated with male health, it is also a naturally occurring hormone in women and plays a role in a range of physiological processes. The film will explore the potential applications of testosterone for women while examining the differences in biology, treatment considerations, and medical needs between men and women.
Looking Towards The Future
Ultimately, Longevity Code: The Truth About Testosterone is intended to examine testosterone as a complex medical subject rather than reduce it to a simple answer.
The documentary asks whether testosterone therapy represents a meaningful development in the way society approaches aging and hormone health, or whether the current enthusiasm surrounding testosterone has moved faster than the science. It will consider both the potential benefits and the unanswered questions as researchers and medical professionals continue to study the hormone.
The film will also look toward the future.
As advances in medicine, diagnostics, hormone testing, and personalized treatment continue to develop, testosterone therapy could become part of a much larger shift in how physicians approach age-related changes and hormone health. Longevity Code will investigate whether that shift represents the beginning of a genuine revolution in medicine and longevity or simply the latest chapter in the long and complicated history of testosterone.
For Generation Iron, the project represents another expansion into documentary filmmaking and long-form storytelling centered on health, fitness, science, and human performance.
