It looks like everything is shutting down including gyms.
In hopes of controlling the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) New York Governor
Andrew Cuomo is suggesting a full lockdown of the city.
As the pandemic continues to spread across the globe officials continue to offer possible solutions to the problems faced by the coronavirus. A total lockdown will help to ensure the virus has little chance to spread. Along with social distancing, it appears that shutting down gatherings of 50 plus people will also be key to combating the virus.
Besides restaurants and movie theaters it appears that shutting down gyms will also be on the agenda. Set to go into effect at 8PM EST tonight.
#BREAKING: NY, CT and NJ are taking joint regional action to reduce the spread of #COVID19:
Effective 8PM TONIGHT:
-Crowd capacity reduced to 50
-Restaurants/bars will be takeout/delivery ONLY
-Gyms closed
-Movie theaters closed
-Casinos closed— Andrew Cuomo (@NYGovCuomo) March 16, 2020
So for all you bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts out there, you’re going to want to get your last training sessions in before it’s too late. If you’re lucky enough to have a home gym set up then don’t bother risking it and just stay inside.
