NSAC Issues Suspensions and Fines to Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov

The verdict is in…

So it took a few months to get everything settled, but it appears that we now know what kind of punishments both UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former two-division champ Conor McGregor will be facing for their parts in the huge brawl that took place at UFC 229.

Conor McGregor was issued a $50,000 fine as well as a six month ban from competition. As for his former foe, Khabib Nurmagomedov was given an even more severe punishment as he was fined ten times the amount as McGregor, $500,000, and was also suspended for a period of nine months.

Considering how massive the brawl was, these punishments aren’t all that terrible, especially considering that the suspensions are retroactive. Conor McGregor will be able to compete as soon as April 6 while Khabib Nurmagomedov wouldn’t be elligible to return until June, though the UFC champion could have the suspension potentially reduced by three months.

Khabib Nurmagomedov took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the verdict.

What do you think of these recent suspensions and fines for Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov?
