With the NY Pro Postponed Until August, Is the 2020 Olympia in Jeopardy?

NY Pro has been postponed. Will the 2020 Olympia follow suit?

UPDATE 8/6/2020 – Looks like there has been another change to the New York Pro in light of recent events. While the new date has not been changed, its location is now moving from the tristate area down to Tampa, Florida. Full story here.


The current global health crisis has truly been devastating. With events in all industries getting cancelled left and right commerce is taking a major hit. The Arnold Sports Expo was postponed due to the crisis, the Australian show following suit. The IFBB eventually gave a statement pushing back all events due to the crisis. And now it seems that another show has been affected.

News broke that the NY Pro would be moved to August from it’s usual May slot.

2020 @ifbb_pro_league NY Pro has been rescheduled. The new date is August 08, 2020.

This new revelation begs the question, where does the 2020 Olympia stand?

With so many events being postponed and cancelled, this recent push back of the NY Pro to August calls into question how the 2020 Olympia will be able to move forward smoothly in September. If the May show has been pushed back to August, where does that leave the other summer shows? Will that mean these shows could potentially be pushed back to August as well? With so many shows potentially being postponed, will unqualified athletes get enough chances to actually qualify for the Olympia?

With so many questions up in the air, the reality is that the Olympia is definitely at risk of pushing back it’s proposed September date.
