Oman boasts an impressive team of bodybuilders, who have been performing exceptionally well on the international stage. From Haji Shaaban achieved two medals in 2009 and 2010. Bin Salim Al Harthy won medals in Brazil, and the National Team netted four medals in Mongolia in 2017.

Oman is just one Arab country riding the massive wave of bodybuilding which has swept the Middle East in recent years. Top competitors like Big Ramy are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the level of talent rising across the Atlantic. Bodybuilding as we know it today has been a traditionally American sport. Usually, it is difficult to export such a Western practice and product to a foreign culture, but bodybuilding has been truly welcomed by many Arab countries. It is more than likely they will continue to increase their hold on the competitive scene in coming years.
