MMA fighter Randy Couture suffers heart attack and is “recovering well.”
TMZ reports that UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has suffered a heart attack on Wednesday and was quickly hospitalized and is currently being held in intensive care at an LA hospital. Reports claim that Couture is expected to make a full recovery.
Couture’s girlfriend Mindy Robinson has issued a statement claiming,
“Yes, Randy had a heart attack yesterday, it’s an issue with him having naturally but unsuually thick blood. We’ve been in the hospital for tests and observation and he is recovering well. He has and always will be… the toughest man I know.”
Randy Couture is a 3 time UFC Heavyweight champion and is often considered by many to be one of the greatest MMA fighters of al time. He has fought and claimed victories over the likes of Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, and Vitor Belfort.
Courture has also made some acting appearances by appearing in the major box office action films “The Expendables” alongside Sylvester Stallone. He also starred in the 2011 movie, “Setup” – which also contained Bruce Willis and 50 Cent in its cast. Couture also competed on “Dancing with the Stars” with his pro dancer partner, Karina Smirnoff.
Couture was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2006. He has 3 children including son Ryan Couture, an MMA fighter who competes for Bellator.
