Regan Grimes Is NOT Competing In Classic Physique

Regan Grimes won’t be switching divisions after all.

We’re weeks out from the New York Pro where a great deal of talent are set to compete in hopes of qualifying for the Olympia later this year. While no one is expecting to see bodybuilders the likes of Phil Heath or Big Ramy, major talents like Nathan De Asha and Juan Morel are set to compete in the Open Weight division. Regan Grimes is also set to make an appearance, but the biggest question has been in what category.

After returning from Kuwait, Regan Grimes has continuously posted a Classic Physique hashtag that has sent his fans and fellow competitors into a frenzy. Many couldn’t believe that he would make such a sudden shift and choose to go down in weight after putting on a considerable amount of muscle at Oxygen Gym. Some experts have ridicule him for choosing to make the switch while a great deal of others commended his decision to compete at a lighter weight.

But it looks like all that fuss was for nothing. Generation Iron has received word that Regan Grimes will indeed be remaining in the Open Weight category and will not be moving down to the Classic Physique division. While Regan Grimes has chosen to remain silent on the subject, our sources close to the bodybuilder have been able to confirm his intentions to remain in the Open Weight division.

For all those hoping to see Regan Grimes in the Classic Physique division, be prepared to be sorely disappointed. Regan still has all the tools to be dominant in the Open Weight division and it appears that’s where his future lies.
