Rob Gronkowski Traded To The Buccaneers, Joins Tom Brady

Rob Gronkowski will be joining Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season.

The New England Patriots will be trading the retired tight end Rob Gronkowski and a 7th rounder in exchange for the Buccaneers 4th rounder.

Gronkowski announced his retirement from the league on March 24, 2019. In his career, he won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, and was one of the league’s most colorful personalities.

Just last month we learned that Tom Brady is being traded to the Buccaneers for the next football season. Now Gronkowski will be joining him.

Gronkowski’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said that the five-time Pro Bowler has been “really invigorated” physically since he retired a year ago. Gronkowski told his agent that he feels fantastic and better than he has ever felt before. His weight is back up and he passed his physical exam as well. Rosenhaus told SportsCenter that Gronkowski is really excited about playing football again, and being in Florida is exciting for him.

Gronkowski, who will be turning 31 next month, has one year and $9 million remaining on his contract.

The Buccaneers announced details of the trade in a news release on Tuesday. Sources say that Tampa Bay was the only team that Gronkowski was willing to end his retirement to play for.

Tampa Bay has Cameron Brate at tight end, O.J. Howard, the subject of recent trade rumors, and Pro Bowl wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

“It was just time for him to continue his career with Tom Brady in Florida, with Tampa. It was something cool and exciting and challenging to him. He’s well rested and looking forward to playing with Tom again,” Rosenhaus said.

Now that Gronk and Brady are back together, can they score another Super Bowl title, but with their new team this time? We have high hopes for this duo.
