In the eyes of many bodybuilding is a young man’s sport. Much like many other athletic endeavors the notion is that you can only perform at your greatest potential at a certain age, usually anywhere between your early twenties and your mid thirties. After that most people consider themselves done, outside their prime. But for those who believe that you can’t continue bodybuilding after the age of fifty, the jokes on you. All we need to do is look at Kevin Levrone and know that the notion simply isn’t true.

But there’s certainly something to consider when it comes to age and training. When you’re injured at an older age it becomes considerably harder for you to recover. Because of that, performing at your best become nigh impossible. Most people give up training after a major injury simply because they don’t have the resolve to push onward. But it seems like this thought process has been lost on Ronnie Coleman.

An eight time Mr. Olympia and arguably one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, Ronnie Coleman constructed a career based on hard work and dedication to his craft. He lifted heavy and trained like there was no tomorrow. But after his career came to an end, Coleman was plagued by injuries left and right showing that all that hard training had an effect on his body in his advanced years.

Just a few months back Coleman had back surgery that put him out of commission for some time. But even with losing the ability to walk for a period time hasn’t stopped Ronnie Coleman from getting back into the gym and doing what he loves. Check out the video below of Ronnie Coleman going HAM in the gym.
