Rudy Kadlub just celebrated his 71st birthday a few days ago and he decided to celebrate it the best way that he knew how.
Rudy is the co-founder and CEO of Kabuki Strength Lab, which is a training facility and equipment manufacturer. For his birthday this year, he celebrated with some whiskey and some weights. Kadlub deadlifted 227kg/500lb in the walkway of his home.
At the age of 55, Kadlub began powerlifting competitively and he currently holds multiple American and world records. Just last year, after turning 70, Kadlub pulled two 229kg/505lbs singles in training for a Masters competition.
These lifts are close to Kadlub’s best, which is 235kg/518lb deadlift from the 2018 International Powerlifting (IPL) Drug Tested World Championships in the -100kg weight class.
We are not certain of when Kadlub will compete again, but judging from his training, he has more gold medals to come in the future. His passion for lifting is unquestioned. Just a couple of weeks ago Kadlub pulled one of three 199.6kg/440lb triples in his garage home gym.
We are looking forward to see what Kadlub might lift to celebrate his 72nd birthday.
