Sergio Oliva Jr Throws More Shade at Regan Grimes, Gives Unfiltered Opinion on Switching Divisions

Lately it seems that beef makes the world go round.

Switching divisions has become a bit of sticking point in bodybuilding as of late. While some view it as a means of reinventing themselves, others believe that it can be viewed as a sign of giving up. That said, every situation is different and the reasons behind changing divisions will vary from person to person. In regards to Regan Grimes switching from Open Weight to Classic Physique however, Sergio Oliva Jr believes it was motivated by fear and entitlement.

Sergio Oliva Jr has always been an outspoken individual and doesn’t mind saying what’s exactly on his mind. This time around he’s speaking his mind on why he won’t be switching divisions despite coming up short at the Chicago Pro against Michael Lockett.

??CLASSIC PHYSIQUE ANNOUNCEMENT ?? It brings me great joy to announce… I will NOT be switching to classic physique? I know even tho I lost one show to a pro who’s been doing this over 12 years, i’m actually sticking to my Goals and staying in the open class. It’s crazy I know?. I will not be jumping ship or trying to reinvent the wheel because I didn’t win the Olympia right away. I understand this takes time. In fact before @philheath no pros really won right away and went straight to the O. But if you followed the history of the sport you would know it takes years of learning and adjusting, which usually only comes from losing. @therealtechnician said it best. I’m batting 500 and people want more. That’s not hate. That’s actually them saying they think highly of me and expect me to be great one day when they attack me?☺️ so thanks for all the support but my father would be ashamed if I ran to a different class after losing once. He didn’t raise no chicken shit participation award child? He raised someone who stands up to a challenge and faces it head on and also someone who speaks their mind✊?. To everyone upset that I have no filter. Please save yourself the hassle of trying to change me. I WILL NEVER CHANGE! I don’t lie or attack anyone personally so sorry not sorry you hang on to everything I say?. All the people who attack the open class and say no one wants to be 300lbs need to wake up and realize no one weighs 300lbs!!!!! In fact no one has for almost 20 years!! Even big Ramy isn’t 300lbs and his name has “Big” in it! The sport has already changed and has been changing for years now . Let’s stop talking ignorantly and learn. I’m just glad to be a part of the history being written everyday??. These colors don’t run. This Last name doesn’t De-Grade it Up-Grades. #MakeBodyBuildingGreatAgain #OpenBodybuildingIsTheFuture #ClassicPhysique #TakeItOnTheChinNotInTheAss #illBeBack #TeamVictory #TeamAceto @therealtechnician @gatsupplements

Do you agree with Sergio Oliva Jr and his stance? Do you think he was poking fun at Regan Grimes in the process?
