Gone with grace, onto deadly size.
Every week, Iron Cinema will connect you with Generation Iron director Vlad Yudin. Giving you unprecedented inside access to the creative process behind his the Generation Iron Fitness Network. Get a first hand look at the entire journey of taking Vlad’s creative ideas to the big screen – from stories on set of films like Generation Iron and CT Fletcher all the way to exclusive behind-the-scene looks at our newest GI news and films. This week Vlad sits down with Shawn Ray, a bodybuilder known for his controversial opinions after retiring from bodybuilding early. Now that the industry is going through a shake up – Vlad gets some insight from a man who was trying to change the sport decades ago. This is the third and final part of that interview.
With all of Shawn Ray’s talk about change, I knew I had to ask him about two constantly talked about controversies in the sport. One being the big shake up with Lee Thompson’s brand new bodybuilding league… and the other regarding the constant criticism modern bodybuilding physiques have been getting over the past year.
Shawn doesn’t just have problems with modern day physiques – he has a problem with the entire mentality behind the athletes who get up on the stage every month – and we’re not just talking about the guts. The attempt for 300 lbs + size might have terriblie ramifications beyond aesthetics. But I’ll let Shawn explain it himself in our final part of my in depth interview. Watch it up top.
