Show Of Strength Makes History in Singapore

The 2017 edition of the annual Show of Strength, organized by the Singapore Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (SFBF) was another excellent event.

It drew over 200 competitors from across Asia and the globe. Organized by the President, Alex Michael Betts, the event had over 800 attendees come to witness the extraordinary show of bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts. This biggest fitness show in Singapore featured different strength sports such as Bikini Fitness, Men’s Physique, Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, Strongman and Fittest NSMen.


Grounds for the Show of Strength was the prestigious Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre. The event was the venue’s the first ever integrated health and fitness event. It was designed to boost the image of professional bodybuilding and other strength sports. The show partnered with many illustrious brands including HomeTeamNS, SAFRA EnergyOne, Powerlifting Singapore, Singapore Strongman Series, among other sponsors.

The event also showcased various fitness exhibitions and methodologies outside of bodybuilding including Pole Dancing, Yoga, Pilates, Functional Training, Arm Wrestling, and Push Up amongst others. And the event was also designed with the intent to afford attendees and participants various workshops, networking opportunities, and brand exposure with leaders in the fitness industry in Asia.

The Show of Strength has been described as the premier event for the entire health fitness community in Asia, and many have stated that the2017 show lived up to this reputation. Some of the most noticeable attendees and competitors who graced the stage included Melissa Sarah Wee, Singapore’s strongest man, Ahmad Taufiq, IFBB Pro, Arnold Classic Champion and Top 3 Mr. Olympia Competitor, Dennis Wolf, Juliette Bergmann, IFBB Pro Joan Liew, and multiple Asian Champion, Augustine Lee.

As might be expected, plans are already underway for the 2018 edition of the Show of Strength. Officials have stated intention to hold it in the same month every year, and attract as many high-quality athletes and business partners as possible. The blooming Asian market is sure to become a goldmine for this burgeoning show.
