When Johnson showed up at the Venice Film Festival last week, many thought that he had gotten off steroids to downsize for his role in ‘The Smashing Machine.’ Over the weekend, Alex Diago saw a response from Johnson under his video claiming he was off steroids.
“This is 100% not true.”
Over the years, Johnson has kept up with his fitness, crushing different workouts at his legendary home gym. To prepare for this role portraying legendary fighter Mark Kerr, The Rock slimmed down and shared physique updates throughout the process. Now, he sparked even more conversation following this appearance.
Alex Diago Calls Out The Rock for Coming Off Steroids

The Rock recently spoke in an interview about a plaque buildup in his circumflex valve. Diago heard these comments and claims that this could be for only three reasons.
“You either have to have very low cholesterol biomarkers, high blood pressure, or very negative lifestyle factors. What we can almost guarantee about The Rock is he’s definitely not smoking or drinking in excess, he doesn’t have a poor diet, he doesn’t have a poor exercise routine.”
Based on these facts, Diago believes that this buildup came from excessive gear use.
“With the amount of research The Rock has had to him over the decades, we can almost assume the only reason this plaque buildup occurred is from excessive of gear use.
Many actors in Hollywood have to keep up their physiques to play certain roles. The Rock is at the top of that list, keeping up with a shredded physique with incredible mass. It is no surprise that Johnson put his all into looking the part of the legendary fighter. The movie is set to be released on October 3.
We still do not know if The Rock has been on steroids but anyone associated with the fitness world has made their assumptions.
“If The Rock was not on a cycle and didn’t deflate by coming off a cycle, he wouldn’t be defending himself on a public page on Instagram to someone who has 200,000 followers.”
