THIS SHAWN RAY OLYMPIA VIDEO PROVES HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHAMPION

Generation Iron Shawn Ray

A situation similar to Cedric’s recent Arnold Classic loss.

Bodybuilding is truly one of the most subjective sports out there. There are tons of competitors out there with great physiques, yet they aren’t considered to be championship material compared to the other athletes that grace the stage. There are tons of different reasons why an individual would be considered unworthy of having the title of the best in the world. Perhaps they’re physique is a bit off or maybe their posing routine was off. Maybe they just didn’t have the conditioning to stay in a pose for long enough. Whatever the reason, at a given competition there can only be one bodybuilder who is deemed to be champion.

During the Golden Era in the 70’s and 80’s there were tons of bodybuilders that could have been considered the best in the world, yet it was Arnold Schwarzenegger that reigned supreme. As far as the 90’s went however there was a man who was considered the absolute king of bodybuilding, Dorian Yates.

During Yates’ era it was evident to everyone that it was unlikely that he’d be defeated or at least that was notion during that time. But there were individuals that challenged Yates every step of the way, namely Flex Wheeler, Kevin Levrone, and undoubtedly Shawn Ray. Ray was the lightest of the four kings of bodybuilder during that era, but he was no less impressive because of his size. In fact, the consensus of many fans was that he certainly deserved at least one Olympia win on his resume.

For any who doubted Ray’s abilities and for those who believe the bodybuilders of yesterday were superior to the competitors that we see today, the video below is proof that Shawn was truly one of the most impressive bodybuilders to ever stand on a posing stage.
