Thor Star Chris Hemsworth is Packing on Muscle to Play Hulk Hogan in Upcoming Biopic

Chris Hemsworth is set to play Hulk Hogan.

These days if you want to make a biopic you have to not only be a great actor, but look the part as well. Jamie Foxx just recently shared progress pictures as he gears up to portray Mike Tyson in an upcoming film. Now it appears Thor star Chris Hemsworth will do the same. Hemsworth is apparently gearing up to portray legendary professional wrestler Hulk Hogan.

One of the most iconic pro wrestlers of all-time, Hulk Hogan has led a pretty wild life filled with success as well as controversy. The wrestling star has faced ups and downs throughout his career. Once sitting atop the mountain as a wrestling icon, Hulk Hogan has also seen his image tarnished with acts racism and other allegations.

While we’re unsure if the film will tackle such subjects, one thing is certain: Chris Hemsworth is putting in the work to look the part.

The Australian actor has been bulking up and is looking to do the wrestling icon justice in the upcoming biopic. Here’s what Chris Hemsworth had to say about playing Hulk Hogan in the upcoming Netflix film.

“This movie is going to be a really fun project,” Hemsworth said. “As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor. There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude.

“I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I’m really looking forward to doing.”

Of course Chris Hemsworth is no stranger to putting in hard work. He is always pushing himself hard to stay in shape for his own personal fitness goals as well as his roles.

Hemsworth will have no problem bulking up to play the role. If anything the toughest task will be pulling off Hogan’s voice in the film.

Controversy or not, Hulk Hogan had a major impact on wrestling and pop culture. Let’s see if Chris Hemsworth can pull this one off.
