Hadi Choopan has been the talk of the town this past week due to his recent win and epic phyisque at the IFBB Portugal Pro 2018. Ever since he narrowly lost to Flex Lewis last year, many believe that Hadi has what it takes to defeat Flex at the Olympia and become the new Men’s 212 champion. But there has been one catch… Hadi can’t compete at the Mr. Olympia.

Not because he doesn’t qualify – because he most certainly has every time – but because the travel ban introduced by President Trump prevents him from coming to the United States. This has been the most frustrating aspect behind predictions and analyses of Hadi Choopan. Many argue over whether or not he can beat Flex Lewis… but there’s no way to find out for sure until they compete together at the Mr. Olympia.

Dennis James is the latest to jump into the fray – and has definitively said that he thinks Hadi is the first athlete to pose a true threat to Flex. But how someone looks in a show before Mr. Olympia doesn’t mean anything until we see them at the Mr. Olympia. Looking good before or after isn’t important… what’s important is the day of. A lot can change by that time – but unfortunately we will most likely not see them duke it out.
