Strength Wars Movie

Legacy of muscle.

When the average person thinks of bodybuilding a number of things would likely come to mind. For many it would be Arnold Schwarzenegger, the man who revolutionized the sport and made bodybuilding popular. Another image that would dominate the average layperson’s mind is the general image of the mass monster. Fans of bodybuilding know the difference between a classic physique and a mass monster, but the public at large lumps them into the same category. But times change and so do the physiques with it. This shift in thought process isn’t by accident however. When you take the time to sit back and consider it, you’d find that one man is solely responsible for how bodybuilders are viewed today.

Dorian Yates.

The six time Olympia champion and one of the best bodybuilders in history, Dorian Yates started out like any other competitor. He started on the amateur circuit and worked his way up the ranks through hard work and dedication to his craft. He would finally reach the highest point of bodybuilding and step onto the Olympia stage. After losing out to Lee Haney a number of times in the past, Dorian Yates would finally escape the shadow of the eight time Olympia champion and make his own mark on the sport. Through genetics, hard work, and admittedly, a specific combination of gear, Dorian Yates was able to bring about radical change to his physique.

While other competitors were playing catch up, Dorian Yates was dominating the 90s, ushering in a new era of bodybuilding. The mass monsters fans and onlookers think on today are the result of Dorian Yates building up his body in ways no one thought was possible. The below video demonstrates just how massive the all time great was as he took to stage with a Guest Posing routine showing off his massive frame. Take a look above!
