A fated meeting with Rich Piana before the drama and before the tragedy.

Mac Trucc is a name that many might remember most recently for his dramatic clashes with Rich Piana. He started a fight with him during an expo with a sucker punch and also was responsible for the release of the racist voice message that got Rich Piana into hot water. Of course all of this washed away with the passing of Piana – a death so sudden and tragically young that many fans and athletes across the world stood together in grieving of a man who changed the way bodybuilding success works in the digital age.

In our upcoming episode of The Breakdown, Shawn Ray and Tifanny Urrea invite guest host Mac Trucc onto the show to discuss in retrospect the rollercoaster relationship he had with Piana before his passing. In the clip above, Mac recounts the moment he first met Rich Piana and how they became instant friends despite the fact that Rich “doesn’t like people.” Rich Piana was always giving and open with his fans but he was very selective on who he chose to be his close friends. Mac Trucc was one of those people. It lead to some very intense moments but that’s par for course in the life of Rich Piana. It couldn’t have happened any other way.
