WHO HAD THE MOST SHOCKING IMPROVEMENT SINCE MR. OLYMPIA?

Generation Iron Improvement Since Mr. Olympia 2015

Big Ramy beats Rhoden and Wolf… just at the wrong time.

Competitive sports can truly be a roller coaster for an athlete. It requires concentration and dedication to improving your craft in order to reach the championship levels. It’s a constant struggle to remain in top form, but for those who want it enough improvement is right around the corner. Make no mistake, in any sporting endeavor, whether it be bodybuilding, MMA, basketball, you name it, improvement is the name of the game and if you aren’t accomplishing that then you’re already on the wrong track.

The 2015 Olympia saw some of the best bodybuilders in the world take to the stage to prove who had the ultimate physique. With so much riding on the event, it’s no surprise that competitors did their best to look the part of champion at the prestigious event. But not everyone performed at the height of their potential. Some individuals were just short of hitting the perfect combination of massive muscle and shred. One competitor that comes to mind is Mamdouh Elssbiay.

The man known as Big Ramy had been heavily touted as a man to watch at this year’s event. When all was said and done and smoke cleared, it was pretty apparent to anyone watching that the Egyptian wasn’t the most impressive physique on the Olympia stage. He held onto a bit more water than anticipated and it prevented his body from having that dry look needed to impress the judges. It was no doubt a huge disappointment for the fans, and even more so for Big Ramy himself that he wasn’t able to hit the stage in top condition.

But this game is all about improvement and if Big Ramy wants to continue to make waves then he’ll have to keep developing. It’s easy to forget that the man is only a few years into his professional career and still has room to grow. With every passing event a lesson is learned and no doubt Big Ramy learned his at this past Olympia event. If you doubt those words then just look at his showing at the Prague Pro this weekend. Big Ramy is hungry for success and already he was able to surpass mainstays Shawn Rhoden and Dennis Wolf. A few weeks ago, we wouldn’t even dare dream that Big Ramy would place above the likes of Shawn Rhoden – but here we are post Olympia 2015… Big Ramy may have had the timing off – but he definitely showed this past weekend he has the chops to be a future Mr. Olympia champion.
