WSOF 29 BREAKDOWN: JUSTIN GAETHJE VS BRIAN FOSTER

wsof 29 headerIf you love slug fests then you won’t want to miss this one.

It seems that we’ve been giving the UFC so much love that there aren’t any other MMA organizations to cover. But with all the wild and crazy match ups that have been occurring over the last few weeks it’s easy to see how someone could forget about this coming weekend’s match up at World Series of Fighting 29 between the hard-nosed lightweight champion Justin Gaethje and the equally tough and hard hitting challenger Brian Foster. But don’t worry, I’m here to give you a reminder on why this is a can’t miss fight for lovers of the pugilistic arts. 6e8283b3-7ac2-4659-a9b0-16391dac8f54.0.0 As the reigning WSOF lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje has made it a habit of putting on tremendous wars, battles that would leave must men crushed and broken. It seems for Gaethje however that it’s all just another day in the office for the champ who seems to thrive in fights that degenerate into slug fests. So far, Gaethje has waded through the fire and come out better for it. Whether that style of fighting gets him into trouble later in his career is anyone’s guess, but for now a gritty war will always be Gaethje’s best bet for victory. Brian Foster is a veteran of both MMA and kickboxing. Foster is only 31 years of age yet has been labeled a journeyman simply because of his propensity to bounce around different organizations as well as partake in aforementioned kickboxing bouts. He’s as gritty as Gaethje and has some diverse and powerful striking in repertoire. The problem however is that his chin isn’t as sturdy as the champion’s which would make entering a slug fest a gamble for Foster. If he hopes to win this bout he’ll have to stay active on the outside, pick his shots, and avoid the champions underrated wrestling game. 1a306626-9a9c-4a7b-ac17-9228b03b7337 (2)This match up is sure to give fans plenty of what they enjoy from a MMA bout. Both men can strike, both men can wrestle, and both are tough as nails. Despite that fact, Justin Gaethje is the pick to win this one inside the first round by KO.
