2025 World’s Strongest Man: Qualifier Day One Results & Recap

2025 World’s Strongest Man Day 1 Qualifier is underway – here’s our complete breakdown & live results.

The 2025 World’s Strongest Man competition will begin this week featuring the strongest athletes in the world battling to take home the most-coveted prize in the sport. The event is scheduled to take place from May 15-18 at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, CA.

The qualifying round of the 2025 World’s Strongest Man will consist of two days — taking place on Thursday and Friday. The athletes will be separated in five groups where they will take part in events to compete for points. From there, 10 athletes will qualify for the finals over the weekend.

2025 World’s Strongest Man: Day One Qualifier Results

The first day of qualifiers will feature three events — the Loading Medley, Overhead Medley and Deadlift for Reps. This is the first of two qualifiers as competitors work to rack up points in order to move onto the finals.

Loading Medley

The competition took place on a street-stage set up in front of the California Railroad Museum. Athletes competed in two-man heats, loading sandbags into the beds of open Cybertrucks. Only the first bag was shaped like a Husafell Stone replica; the rest were standard cylindrical sacks.

Deadlift for Reps

The second event of the 2025 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) competition was the Deadlift for Reps. The 23 remaining athletes each attempted to lift 350 kilograms (771 pounds) for as many repetitions as possible. Luke Richardson and Evan Singleton withdrew from the contest after sustaining biceps injuries during the Loading Medley—Richardson injured his right bicep, while Singleton injured his left.

Rogue Overhead Medley

The final event of the day one qualifiers was the Rogue Overhead Medley. Competitors were tasked with lifting four events for a total of seven reps in the fastest time possible. The implements are as follows — 90kg dumbbell for two, 145kg log press for two, 154kg circus press for two, 168kg axle press for one.
