There will be five groups of five competitors battling it out during the event.

The 2025 World’s Strongest Man continues to share new pieces of information about the event. After the full lineup of events was shared in April, the show has now revealed its full groups for the qualifying rounds.

The 2025 WSM is scheduled to take place from May 15-18. It will take place in Sacramento for the first time since 2022. The event moved to Myrtle Beach in 2023-24 but will move back West in the coming year. With the event moving back to California in May, there will be ideal conditions for both athletes competing and fans that make the trip to watch the event live.

A group of 25 of the strongest men in the world will compete to see who will hoist this year’s prize. The qualifying portion of the show will be the first to see who will move onto the finals. The qualifying round will take place on the first two days of the event (May 15-16).

The 2024 World’s Strongest Man came down to two former champions. In the end, it was Tom Stoltman who prevailed and brought home his third title of his career. He defeated Mitchell Hooper, who put together an impressive resume over the last two years in Strongman. This duo will headline the event once again.

Hooper recently addressed concerns surrounding the competition — including the overall payout timeline and treatment of family and friends. The organization will now make a $1,500 payment to each competitor prior to leaving the event. This will help athletes cover different expenses ahead of the show. There will also be four complimentary passes given to each athlete.
