Jaco Schoonwinkel Wins 2026 SCL Iceman: Full Results & Recap

Schoonwinkel was victorious during the two-day event.

The 2026 Strongman Champions League Iceman kicked off the first stage of the league this year. The competition took place across two days over the weekend in Joensuu, Finland. Jaco Schoonwinkel won two events on his way to 69.5 points to be crowned champion in the end.

2026 Strongman Champions League Iceman Event Recaps

Event One – Frame Carry for Time

The first event of the competition was the Frame Carry. This was a timed event where competitors were asked to carry a 320kg (705.5lb) frame across a course that spans 30.2 meters.

  2. Jesper Hansson – 13.46 seconds
  3. Brian Kichton – 14.00 seconds
  4. Kevin Hazeleger – 14.19 seconds
  5. Palmi Gudfinnsson – 16.75 seconds

  7. Mika Torro – 20.34 seconds
  8. Thomas Glatzl – 30.25 seconds
  9. Antti Mourujarvi – 31.22 seconds

Event Two – Front Hold

The Front Hold asked competitors to hold a 30kg (66.1lb) weight in front of them for as long as possible. This was a timed event that tested strength in many ways.

Event Three – Super Yoke Medley

The Super Yoke Medley was next on the list. The first part of the medley asked athletes to move a 400kg (881.8lb) yoke across a 15-meter path. After this, they needed to push a wheelbarrow weighing 350kg (771.6lb) for 15 more meters.

Event Four – Bag Toss Medley

The Bag Toss Medley ended day one at the competition. There was a total of five bags that varied in weight and competitors has to toss the bags over a beam at 4.3 meters high.

Event Five – Forrester Machine Pull

The Forrester Machine Pull was the first event of the second and final day of the competition. Competitors were strapped to a 20,000kg (44,092.5lb) vehicle that had to be pulled 15 meters.

Event Six – Conan’s Wheel

Conan’s Wheel asked strongmen to carry a beam for the longest distance possible.

The deadlift event loaded 340kg (749.6lb) onto the bar and asked competitors to compete the most amount of reps.

The final event of the competition was the Loading Race. It featured two boxes that had to be lifted onto a platform. One box weight 130kg (286.6lb) and the other 120kg (264.6lb).
