Who needs two arms?

When it comes to bodybuilding, challenging yourself should provide the ultimate motivation. When you consider the fact that bodybuilding is about sculpting the frame into it’s most muscular form, you have to realize that most of your workouts are going to consist of the same exercises performed over and over each week with some variations to keep things from getting too stale. But eventually the whole exercise can become a bit tiresome. The drive to improve is the one thing that will keep you pushing your limit constantly. If not for the constant gains you make, most would likely give up on the entire endeavor altogether.

So what can you do to keep yourself motivated to keep pushing, to keep getting into the gym and furthering your development? Well, a great way to get you working out nonstop is the notion of improving more than just your physical form. If you focus on strength and bodybuilding at once, you’ll have a higher motivating factor that should keep you coming back for more. Constantly challenging yourself, looking to break personal records, to improve your technique and form. These ideologies coupled with improving upon your explosive strength will provide with a never ending mission that will keep you in the gym.

One challenging movement to consider when trying to improve your strength as well as your physique is the one arm barbell deadlift. One of the best exercises for your lower back and hamstrings, the deadlift is one of the three classic exercises utilized by athletes of all kinds of sports. The deadlift can not only improve your physical frame, but can also give you explosive core strength as well.

These days athletes have been challenging themselves by performing one arm deadlifts with a considerable amount of weight. But what are the benefits of one arm deadlifts anyway?

1. The Challenge

For one it’s one of the more challenging lifts to pull off. If you’re looking to make some strength gains and continuously grow then this is an exercise for you. Even Scott Herman has had trouble with the lift despite having a decent amount of strength to his name.

Decided to try single-arm deadlifts with 315lbs. It was much harder than I thought it was going to be! Haha. But I went for it anyway! #HTH #SHFAthlete #ProjectGains #MuscularStrength #ScottHerman #ScottHermanFitness #BSNArmy #MuscleGenes #MGNation #natty #natural #fitness #workout #bodybuilding #gym #gains
