This African Bodybuilder Is More Jacked Than You Without Supplements

Straight from the motherland!

Sometimes as Americans we feel sorry for ourselves. We can’t get out of bed, or our hair isn’t just right, or we didn’t have our morning coffee. But after hearing the story of African Bodybuilder Kulbila Samuel you’ll realize your only real problems were excuses.

Kulbila Samuel is an African bodybuilder from Ghana who works out in a homemade gym, without proper equipment, or any supplements. Samuel started working out at the age of 21 when a friend took him to the gym on September 15th, 2011. That day changed his life as he has never stopped working out since, Samuel says he’s forever indebted to his friend that put him on to the sport.

But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. After the first day Samuel suffered major cramps and soreness that almost caused him to quit, but that same friend motivated him, and he was back at it the very next day.

Not big on cardio, Samuel jogs and jumps rope around 2x per week. But when he really wants to get shredded, he does two a days (two workouts per day) for an extended period of time. He feels too much cardio will deplete the muscle and take away from his hard earned gains.

Other than the gym, he does odd jobs to finance his lifestyles. Labor gigs at construction sites and part time bouncing makeup for a bulk of his income. They go hand in hand as his labor gigs keeps his muscles primed and strong, making it easier for him to get bouncing gigs. He’s also sponsored by a company called “SeriousAboutLifting” for supplemental income (see what we did there…)

While his bio is impressive, the real question here is how does a bodybuilder without a proper gym stay stacked and shredded without supplements? Diet, that’s how. Samuel has a strict Regimen for his meal plan that he hardly ever deviates from. Natural wholefoods comprise 100% of his varied diet as his menu includes everything from rice to plantains, to oats.

Meal 1: ‘Hausa koko” and “koosay” (Millet porridge and bean balls)

Meal 2: Six egg whites, two bananas, and slightly cooked oats.

Meal 3: Rice, yam, plantain or “eba”, cocoyam leaves sauce with smoked fish (tuna, salmon, or catfish) and avocados.

Meal 4: Rice, yam, plantain,  tomato stew, two whole boiled eggs, and green beans.

You can catch Samuel doing compound movements in his make shift gym while listening to his favorite Afro pop and hip hop tracks. “Titanium”, as he’s known in the bodybuilding world, placed 3rd in his first competition “2014 Man Ghana National Championship.” He got his stage name from one of his favorite tracks by artist David Guetta.

Samuel says his goal is to make natty bodybuilding famous in Ghana as well as inspire people all across the globe. What do you think of Kulbila Samuel?
