Antoine Vaillant has been hospitalized and underwent recent ankle surgery.
No one likes going to the hospital. That goes two fold for an athlete who is constantly in the gym. But that’s exactly where Antoine Vaillant found himself recently. After being hospitalized, Antoine Vaillant underwent ankle surgery, one that required him getting an epidural in his spine for the pain.
That couldn’t have felt good. From how Antoine Vaillant describes the needle, it must have been a pretty unpleasant experience. In his Instagram stories, Vaillant went into detail about why he was in the hospital.
“What I had was an arthroscopy because I have arthritis in my ankles and I have bone spurs and a lot of scar tissue,” said Vaillant. “So we had to get that taken care of.”
Recently in action at the 2020 Olympia back in December, Vaillant took 14th place at the show. Since then he’s stayed in the gym working on improving his physique and staying sharp for the 2021 season.
Who knows if this injury will set him back. It’s likely that he’ll still be able to train upper body while dealing with the aftermath. That said, no bodybuilder wants to be out of commission for long. Setbacks happen of course and are sometimes out of our control. That said, Vaillant has put in so much work that it’s not going to disappear over night.
When he isn’t spending his time in the hospital, Antoine Vaillant is frequently collaborating with his friend Jujimufu. The two have trained together numerous times and most recently Jujimufu gave a pretty impressive showing at the Hybrid Showdown event.
