His Bodybuilding Debut on Hold, Jujimufu Impresses at Hybrid Showdown Powerlifting Meet

His bodybuilding debut delayed, Jujimufu competed at recent Hybrid Showdown powerlifting event.

Sometimes things just don’t go our way. The Arnold Classic 2021 in Ohio was canceled and so too was the Arnold Classic Amateur, bad news for the bodybuilding hopefuls hoping to make waves in the industry. Jon “Jujimufu” Call was supposed to step on stage at that very show. But now, with his bodybuilding debut on hold, Jujimufu decided to compete at the recent Hybrid Showdown powerlifting event.

It was a last minute decision for Jujimufu. With so much time and dedication put into his bodybuilding debut, only for it to be delayed, it would be no surprise if he was deflated. But rather than wallow in disappointment, Jujimufu decided to use his free time constructively.

The Hybrid Showdown feature some amazing performances. Julius Maddox broke the raw bench press world record. Daniel Bell also broke an all-time raw with straps world record with a total weight of 2606lbs. It was certainly a show that changed the landscape of powerlifting.

At that very same event, Jujimufu had the opportunity to show his incredible talents with some impressive lifts of his own. Take a look at some highlights of his performance at the event.

Last week I decided last minute to enter the Hybrid Showdown powerlifting meet! Just for fun! These are my best 3 lifts of the meet!

672 lb (305 kg) squat (PR)
418 lb (190 kg) bench (-2 lb from my PR)
645 lb (293 kg) deadlift (Pink Power!)

See my next post for my fails!

Ever the showman, Jujimufu also showcased his fails as well.

See previous post for my best lifts! These are my fails! Powerlifting is a great sport with great people! I had a great time!

688 lb (313 kg) squat. I know I can do this. I went too low and went off balance.

365 lb (165 kg) bench. I didn’t listen to the judges commands lol.

672 lb (305 kg) deadlift. Got stapled. I got some work to do. ☠

FAILS ARE PART OF THE FUN! ?

Jujimufu is well loved because of his incredible talents, but also his lack of ego. It’s good to see him having fun at this event. What do you think of Jujimufu impressing at the Hybrid Showdown powerlifting event?
